Kentucky’s Willett Distillery has teamed up with rock band Kings of Leon to launch a limited-edition American whiskey brand.
Kiamichi Whiskey has been created in “collaboration” with the Followill brothers, who hail from the neighbouring state of Tennessee. The range comprises a five- and an eight-year-old rye, along with a 19-year-old Bourbon.
All three will be available in Oklahoma, Tennessee and Kentucky as well as through the brand’s official website.
- Five Year Rye – 54% ABV, SRP of US$149 per 75cl bottle, limited to 2,780 units
- Eight Year Rye – 55% ABV, $249 per bottle, 1,171 units
- 19 Year Single Barrel Bourbon – 56.5% ABV, $1,499, 374 units
Kiamichi is named after a river in Oklahoma where the brothers grew up.
Founded in 1936 after the repeal of prohibition, Willett Distillery is based in Bardstown. The company, established by the Willett family but now owned by siblings Drew and Britt Kulsveen, also produces its namesake brand as well as Old Bardstown.
