Beam Suntory has confirmed another lead change at one of its portfolio divisions.
Robbie Millar, until last month Carlsberg’s VP of global marketing, is the new MD for the spirits group’s ‘Scotch & Irish brand house’. The news follows a similar move in the US last month when a new MD of the James B Beam Distilling Co brand house was announced.
The position includes oversight of the end-to-end P&L, with Millar’s responsibilities covering the likes of the Laphroaig, Bowmore and Kilbeggan brands for Beam Suntory.
When contacted by Global Drinks Intel, a spokesperson for Beam Suntory confirmed that François Bazini, global MD for the group’s Scotch, gin and Irish whiskies, has made way for Millar. Details of where Bazini has moved to were not disclosed.

Millar joined Carlsberg in 2017 from SABMiller, which was acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev the year before. His spirits experience includes five years with Compass Box, the Scotch whisky company in which Bacardi held a stake until earlier this year, and Diageo, from 1989 to 1998.
