US-based craft beverage specialist Entertainment Arts Research has acquired Perfectomundo Tequila from its founder, DJ Paul Oakenfold.
The North Carolina-based business, which also owns the White Rhino Vodka and Original New York Seltzer flavoured soda, has spent an undisclosed sum on the brand. Produced by Fabrica de Tequilas Finos in Jalisco, Perfectomundo comprises three expressions, including a Blanco priced in the US at US$33 per 75cl bottle and an Añejo at $68.
The brand is also available in selected European markets.
According to figures released by the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States this month, the combined Tequila & mezcal category experienced a 17% jump in sales by value in the US last year. Volumes were also up double digits, rising in the market – Tequila’s largest by far – by 11.5%.
