CVH Spirits’ European unit has signed a distribution deal in Austria with MyDrinks Austria, which will take over from current partner Rudolf Ammersin.

The Deanston scotch whisky brand owner, which was established in 2023 following Heineken’s acquisition of Distell, will switch to MyDrinks Austria from 1 April. CVH’s range will “continue to be available in Ammersin’s specialist retail range”, the division said.

The switch “aims to optimise market coverage in Austria and improve customer experiences through a focused distribution approach”, CVH added.

The company, which oversees five other scotch brands besides Deanston, including Black Bottle, Bunnahabhain and Scottish Leader, described MyDrinks Austria as a “new distribution partner to help shape CVH’s realignment”. Global Drinks Intel has contacted the group for further details about the move.

“It’s very important to me to thank the Ammersin team for the trusting and excellent collaboration over the past few years,” said CVH’s European business manager, Christian Schwarzmann. “Together, we were able to position our brands in the Austrian market and achieve important milestones.”

CVH had been spun out as a standalone business that was not included in Heineken’s purchase of its former owner. In 2024, Campari spent EUR82.6m (then-US$91.8m) on a 14.6% stake in the company’s current owner, South African investment company Capevin Holdings – hence, CVH.
