Brown-Forman has opened a branded online store for single malt Scotch whisky brand Benriach in the US.
The group has partnered with New York-based e-commerce specialist Thirstie, which works with local alcohol retailers to fulfil online orders. According to Thirstie, the single malt is “the first brand within Brown-Forman’s … spirits portfolio to have a branded online shopping experience in the US”.
The purchase page is available for consumers in California, Connecticut, DC, Florida, Illinois, Maine, New Jersey, New York and Washington.
Brown-Forman re-entered the single malt Scotch segment six years ago, spending GBP281m (then-US$410.5m) on The Benriach Distillery Co. As well as the namesake brand, the company also assumed control of The GlenDronach and Glenglassaugh.
Last month, the group announced plans to invest GBP30m (then-US$36.7m) over three years in upping the production capacity at The GlenDronach’s distillery in Scotland’s Highlands region.
