Beam Suntory has followed November’s senior executive switch with the appointment of Alex Alvarez from Brown-Forman as its next chief supply chain officer.
Alvarez, who joined Brown-Forman in early 2007, will call time on his near-16-year stint with the Jack Daniel’s brand owner to assume his new position with Beam Suntory this month. He replaces David Hunter, whose retirement was announced late last year.

Alvarez, who has been based out of Louisville, Kentucky, since 2014, was appointed chief sustainability officer & director of ESG by Brown-Forman 11 months ago. His new role, which covers Beam Suntory’s supply chain, procurement and “quality” functions, is also based in Louisville.
The Panama national will report in to CEO Albert Baladi.
Also in November, speculation arose linking Beam Suntory to a consolidation of its brand portfolio, with Pinnacle Vodka and Cruzan Rum rumoured to be up for sale.
