Louisiana Spirits, the distillery behind Bayou Rum, has appointed Crescent Crown Distributing as its distribution partner in Louisiana. First shipments went out yesterday (1 September).
It is the first market for a brand that has just been rebuilt. Bayou White and Bayou Spiced relaunched earlier this year with new liquid – a pot still and column still blend in place of the old all-pot recipe – a redrawn bottle and label, and a shelf position alongside the imported rums rather than above them. Both are on the truck from day one.
Crescent Crown is a Louisiana company: family-owned since 1982 with four distribution centres in the state – New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Thibodaux – and roughly 8,000 retail and on-premise accounts across South Louisiana. The distributor added spirits to its Louisiana book in 2023.
Talks are underway with distributors across a number of Southern states – and the rest of the Bayou range follows the two flagships through the same rebuild.
“Bayou Rum is proudly born and raised in Louisiana, so entrusting our brand to a Louisiana-based distributor makes this partnership with Crescent Crown especially meaningful,” said Louisiana Spirits’ president, Angelo Torre (above, left). They understand our market, our culture and the pride behind our brand. We have tremendous confidence in their team and look forward to growing Bayou Rum together right here at home.”
Crescent Crown Distributing’s president, Chris Bourg (above, right), added: “Crescent Crown Louisiana is humbled and honoured to have this opportunity to partner with the leadership and team at Bayou Rum. Both companies were born and raised in the great state of Louisiana. Adding Bayou Rum to our amazing portfolio of brands helps ensure that Crescent Crown can continue to deliver the highest quality products to our cherished customers throughout Louisiana.”
