UK trade association Wine GB is planning to host its annual tasting for the trade and press at the Battersea Arts Centre in London on 4 September.
In addition to exhibiting wines produced in the country, this year’s event will feature a pop-up to showcase the ‘Sustainable Wines of Great Britain (SWGB)’ scheme, a four-year-old affiliate that has 78 members committed to operating sustainably. The pop-up will feature a masterclass featuring SWGB-accredited wines.
The main event will host themed-tasting tables dedicated to Wine GB’s awards’ trophy winners, lower alcohol wines (12.5% ABV and below), “new classics” (a table devoted to up-and-coming grape varietals) and new releases.
“With our industry growing fast and vineyard numbers surpassing the 1,000 milestone, this event is the perfect opportunity to sample the award-winning, diverse, and innovative wines available in the UK,” said CEO Nicola Bates.
