The organisers of this week’s Vinexpo trade show in Paris have deemed the event a success, with year-on-year attendance numbers rising sharply.
Figures from Vinexposium indicate a 41% lift in the number of visitors compared to 2022. The exhibition, which ran from Monday to Wednesday, also included a rise in the amount of floor space – +20% – given over to 3,387 exhibitors.
Last year’s iteration of the annual event was its first since the arrival of the pandemic. Speaking to Global Drinks Intel this week, Vinexposium CEO Rodolphe Lameyse admitted having had challenging conversations in the run-up to the 2022 event with exhibitors on long-term contracts who had expressed Covid-related concerns at the time.
The top five visitor countries this week after France were Belgium, the US, Italy, the UK and Germany.
This year’s show was the fourth since moving from Bordeaux to the French capital and rebranding as ‘Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris’. Vinexposium also organises Vinexpo America, Asia, China and India as well as Drinks America and the World Bulk Wine Exhibition in Amsterdam.
