Treasury Wine Estates has named ex-Medibank executive Kylie Bishop as its next chief people officer.
Bishop (below) will take up the position in “mid” January and joins the Melbourne-headquartered group following 13 years at the private health insurance provider, latterly as group lead of people, spaces & sustainability. She succeeds Kirsten Dale, who has been positioned as interim CPO following the departure of chief of staff and chief people & corporate affairs officer Katie Hodgson in April.
A newcomer to the alcohol industry, Bishop began her career at National Australia Bank. She has also held non-executive positions at Basketball Victoria, Rugby Victoria and Melbourne Health.
“We’re pleased to welcome Kylie as our chief people officer at a pivotal time for TWE, with our ‘Ascent’ transformation well underway,” said CEO Sam Fischer. “With our new regional operating model now in place, we’re investing in the brands and teams that will power our future growth.”
In June, Fischer, who took over from Tim Ford last year, shared what he called the group’s “transformation plans”, which included the intention to reduce the size of its portfolio from 76 brands to “less than 30”.
Among the plans was the positioning of three “power brands” backed by seven “regional heroes”.
