Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 4 December.

Proximo Spirits’ Bushmills 44 Year Old Single Malt Irish whiskey

  • Irish whiskey, single malt, 44 years old, matured for its duration in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks, 48% ABV
  • Available as an exclusive through Dubai Duty Free
  • SRP of US$12,000 per 50cl bottle, limited to 40 units
The oldest Bushmills iteration to date is an exclusive for Dubai Duty Free which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year

Pernod Ricard’s Código 1530 Cristalino Reposado tequila

  • Tequila, cristalino. A blend of reposado and “a dash of” ‘Origen’ extra añejo, 40% ABV
  • Launching this month to the US off-premise, as well as in Indonesia, Mexico, Singapore and Taiwan
  • In the US, SRP of US$89.99 per 75cl bottle
The reposado/extra añejo blend from Código 1530, which Pernod Ricard acquired majority control of last year, has been filtered through charcoal to create a cristalino extension

Loch Lomond Group’s Loch Lomond 2009 Single Cask 748 single malt

  • Scotch whisky, single malt, single cask, matured in a refill American oak hogshead, 58.7% ABV
  • Released this week in the UK global travel retail channel as an exclusive with operator Avolta
  • SRP of GBP95.99 (US$121) per 70cl bottle, limited to 256 units
Loch Lomond’s tie-up with Avolta will see the single cask expression on sale at the latter’s outlets in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London Heathrow airports

Exploring English Whisky’s nine-year-old English single malt

  • English whisky, nine years old (seven years in second-fill French oak casks, two in ex-Sauternes wine casks), 55% ABV
  • Available from this week online in the UK to members of the online subscription group
  • SRP of GBP70 (US$88) per 70cl bottle, limited to 700 units
UK-based consumer subscription platform Exploring English Whisky has partnered with brewer & distiller Adnams in the east of the country for the debut expression in its ‘Explorer Series’

Douglas Laing & Co’s XOP Scallywag Tormore 35 Years Old single malt

  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Speyside, 35 years old, matured in an ex-Sherry butt, 46.2% ABV
  • On sale from this week in specialist spirits off-premise operators worldwide
  • SRP of EUR866 (US$942) per bottle, limited to 285 units
Privately-owned Douglas Laing is marking its 75th anniversary with a single-cask, 35-year-old iteration sourced from the Tormore distillery in Speyside

Clonakilty Distillery’s Clonakilty 32-Year-Old Single Malt

  • Irish whiskey, single malt, 32 years old, aged in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks, bottled at cask strength at around 43% ABV
  • Available since last week to consumers in Ireland and the EU
  • SRP of EUR2,225 (US$2,420) per numbered 70cl bottle, limited to 500 units
Each purchase of the 32-year-old single malt also includes a 5cl “tasting vial”
