Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 31 October.

King Car Group’s Kavalan Solist French Wine Cask single malt Taiwanese whisky

Kavalan’s branded retail outlets in Taiwan and Shanghai will offer the single malt’s Solist expression
  • Taiwanese whisky, single malt, no age statement. Matured in ex-French red wine cask, 57.1% ABV
  • Debuts this month in Kavalan-branded outlets in Taiwan, ‘Shanghai Special Release’ version launching in Shanghai
  • SRP of TWD6,600 (US$205) per 75cl bottle, CNY2,088 (US$286) for Shanghai Special Release

Ian Macleod Distillers’ As We Get It single malt Scotch

The addition to the company’s GTR-only ‘Speciality Malt Collection’ will feature individual batch numbers on the label
  • Single malt Scotch whisky, Highlands, no age statement, between 58% and 63% ABV depending on batch
  • Exclusive to the Global Travel Retail Channel from January
  • SRP of GBP60 (US$68) per 70cl bottle

Diageo’s Ron Zacapa 23 La Armonia rum

La Armonia – The Harmony Cask – is the third annual expression in the four-strong ‘Heavenly Cask Collection’ from Zacapa, which is jointly owned by Diageo and Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala
  • Rum, Guatemala, finished in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks, 40% ABV
  • Launching this month in selected markets including Czech, France, Germany, Guatemala, Italy, Panama, Spain, Switzerland and the Benelux and Nordic markets
  • SRP of EUR80 (US$78) per 70cl bottle. Number of units not disclosed

Luxardo Espresso Liqueur

The extension of Luxardo’s namesake liqueur brand, import duties for which are handled by Hotaling & Co, contains 137mg of caffeine per ounce
  • Liqueur, Italy, 27% ABV
  • Launching nationwide in the US this month
  • SRP of US$24.99 per 75cl bottle

Beam Suntory’s Courvoisier XO Royal Cognac

XO Royal, which uses Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie, will be a permanent addition to Courvoisier’s portfolio
  • Cognac, XO, 40% ABV
  • Rolling out worldwide from this week
  • In the UK, SRP of GBP280 (US$323) per 70cl bottle. Available from high-end off-premise operators including Harrods and Harvey Nichols

Starward Whisky’s Vitalis single malt Australian whisky

Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Melbourne’s Starward has Distill Ventures – Diageo’s exclusive brand incubator partner – as an investor
  • Australian whisky, single malt, no age statement. Oldest liquid from 2011, youngest from 2018, 52% ABV
  • On sale in the US from later this week, in limited numbers. Also available for preorder online
  • SRP of $150 per 75cl bottle
