Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 22 September.


Godawan 173 Indian single malt bottle
Released as a tribute to the Great Indian Bustard, 173 bottles of this Indian single malt will be available - one per bird that is alive in the country today. A 100-unit run of Godawan was released in May 2023 - again, one per bustard.

Diageo’s Godawan 173 The Collector’s Edition

  • Whisky, single malt, India. Aged for “over” nine years in ex-bourbon American white oak as well as in ex-oloroso and -Pedro Ximenez sherry. Finished for an unspecified period in casks that previously held Asha Liqueur, 46% ABV
  • On sale from this week at Bangalore Duty Free in India, as well as through “select premium outlets” in London
  • SRP of INR500,000 (US$5,630) per 70cl bottle, limited to 173 units

Waterloo Gin’s Waterloo Prickly Pear & Rose

This flavour extension sits alongside Waterloo's flagship No. 9 as well as the Barrel Aged iteration
  • Gin, Texas, flavoured. Botanical mix features hibiscus, rose, and prickly pear plus Waterloo’s “hallmark nine-botanical recipe”
  • Released this week to unspecified US states (the brand’s owner expects to have a presence in 20 states by the end of this year), also on sale online for domestic delivery
  • SRP of US$34.99 per 75cl bottle

Campari Group’s Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Beacon

The decade-long Master's Keep series is drawing to a close this year with this tenth and final iteration
  • American whiskey, bourbon, Kentucky. Consists of a blend of ten- and 16-year-old bourbons, 59% ABV
  • Released worldwide this week through selected off-premise spirits specialists
  • SRP of US$300 per unit, available in limited – unspecified – quantities

Sazerac Co’s BuzzBallz Grapes Gone Wild

  • RTD, grape flavour, 15% ABV
  • ROlling out across the US this month
  • SRP not immediately available, on sale in 18.7cl, 20cl, 1.5-litre and 1.75-litre sizes

Tequila El Mexicano’s Reposado

Tequila El Mexicano reposado bottle
  • Tequila, reposado. Produced at the Bañuelos family’s Hacienda El Mexicano distillery, aged for 90 days in 80% American oak and 20% French oak barrels, 40% ABV
  • Released this week across the US through California’s Foley Family Wines & Spirits
  • SRP of US$45 per 75cl bottle

Wemyss Family Spirits’ Kingsbarns 10-Year-Old single malt

Kingsbarns 10-year-old bottle and box
The ten-year-old, Kingsbarns' first age-statemented single malt, is available in limited quantities
  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Lowlands, ten years old, matured “predominantly” in ex-bourbon and “a touch of” STR (scraped (or shaved), toasted and re-charred) ex-wine, 46% ABV
  • Debuting this week online for domestic delivery in the UK as well as through specialist spirits sellers in the country’s off-premise
  • SRP of GBP65 per unit, limited (unspecified) quantities available

Douglas Laing & Co’s Big Peat and Scallywag Winter Editions

  • Scotch whisky, both blends. Scallywag sourced from Speyside region, Big Peat from distilleries on Islay. No age statements. Big Peat finished for an unspecified period in ex-Madeira wine (53.6% ABV), Scallywag finished (again unspecified) in ex-ice wine from Eastern Europe (52.4% ABV). 
  • Rolling out to selected off-premise operators across Europe, including the UK
  • SRPs of EUR74 (US$87) for Big Peat expression, EUR68 for Scallywag. Both are available for a limited (unspecified) period

Glenbrynth Ventures’ Glenbrynth Bourbon Finish, Rum Cask Finish, Sherry Cask Finish

Glenbrynth Bourbon Cask Finish, Rum Cask Finish and Sherry Cask Finish bottles and boxes
The three new expressions are available in limited quantities from this month
  • Scotch whiskies, single malts, Highlands. No age statements, finished in ex-bourbon, -rum and -sherry, respectively, all 43% ABV
  • On sale now in markets in southern Africa as well as in Malta and the UAE
  • SRPs not disclosed
