Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 17 April.

PepsiCo and Unilever’s Lipton Hard Iced Tea FMBs

PepsiCo and Unilever’s Pepsi Lipton Tea JV has extended its Lipton Iced Tea portfolio
  • Flavoured malt beverages, Lemon, Peach, Strawberry and Half & Half variants. All at 5% ABV
  • Rolling out to the US this week in the off-premise channel through “national and local retailers and convenience stores” in selected – unspecified – states
  • SRP not disclosed, available in a 12-can variety pack. The Lemon and Peach flavours are on sale in individual 71cl cans

Bacardi’s Tequila Cazadores Tequila-based RTDs

  • Premix cocktails, Tequila-based, Paloma and Margarita, both 5.9% ABV
  • Released in Canada this week, initially in Alberta, British Columbia and the Maritimes. The Paloma variant is also on sale through LCBO off-premise stores in Ontario and SAQ stores in Quebec
  • SRPs not specified. Both available in 35.5cl cans

Beam Suntory’s Sipsmith Coronation Gin, Hot Honey Gin

The limited-batch pair of expressions appear together in Sipsmith’s ‘The Sipping Society Coronation Box’
  • Gins. Coronation Gin has spent time in casks previously used by single malt Scotch whisky brand Laphroaig. Hot Honey Gin features honey harvested in London
  • On sale now online in the UK ahead of King Charles III’s coronation
  • Priced at GBP35 [US$43] per two-bottle pack. Limited to 150 boxes available to non-members of Sipsmith’s ‘Sipping Society’ subscription platform

Proximo Spirits’ Bushmills 25 Year Old and 30 Year Old single malt Irish whiskies

The two permanent additions to the Bushmills range have been finished in ex-ruby Port pipes for “up to” 21 years and in ex-Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks for 16 years, respectively
  • Irish whiskey, single malts, both carry ABVs of 46%
  • Released worldwide this month, through specialist spirits off-premise operators
  • SRPs of EUR850 [US$930] per 70cl bottle of the 25-year-old and EUR2,000 for the 30-year-old

Pernod Ricard’s Royal Salute Coronation of King Charles III Edition blended Scotch

The expression follows in the footsteps of “the original Royal Salute 21 Year Old Signature Blend created in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1953”
  • Scotch whisky, blended, comprising 53 malt and grain whiskies, all of which are a minimum of 21 years old,
  • On sale from this month worldwide through off-premise spirits specialists
  • SRP of US$25,000 per Dartington Crystal decanter, packaged in a box “inspired by Westminster Abbey”. Limited to 500 units

Campari Group’s Mayenda blanco Tequila

Mayenda, which takes its name from “the Aztec goddess of the agave”, Mayahuel, will sit alongside Espolon in Campari’s Tequila portfolio
  • Tequila, blanco, 40% ABV
  • Rolling out this week in the US and Mexico
  • In the US, SRP of US$70 per 75cl bottle. MXN1,799 [US$100] in Mexico

The Boston Beer Co’s Slingers Signature Cocktails malt-based RTDs

The owner of Truly Hard Seltzer is trialling Peach Screwdriver, Bahama Mama and Pineapple Punch under the Slingers brand
  • “Cocktail Inspired” flavoured malt beverages, 8% ABV
  • Positioned as a “regional test-and-learn” in the US, on sale from this month in Cleveland, Pittsburgh and parts of New Hampshire
  • SRP not available, although the “pricing … won’t break the bank”

COOP Beverage Works’ Tampico Hard Punch malt-based RTDs

Launched initially as a juice in 1989, the Tampico brand is extending into beverage alcohol with Hard Punch Citrus and Hard Punch Island
  • Flavoured malt beverages, 8% ABV
  • Released this month to the off-premise channel in 23 US states, including California, New York and Texas
  • SRPs not disclosed, on sale in four packs of 35.5cl cans as well as in 71cl individual cans

Navy Island Rum Co’s Navy Island Port Cask Finish

In what will be an annual bottling, the debut Port Cask Finish will go on sale in “selected markets around the globe”
  • Rum. Jamaica. Finished for “at least” six months in ex-Tawny Port casks, 46.4%
  • Rolling out worldwide this month to markets including Germany, Japan and the US
  • SRP of EUR60 [US$66] per 70cl bottle, limited to 4,000 units

Takara Shuzo International’s Tomatin PX Cask 2001 single malt

Distilled in 2001, the limited edition expression comprises whisky that was matured in an ex-Pedro Ximenez Sherry butt
  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Highlands, 57.4% ABV
  • Released this week as a UK exclusive through specialist spirits operators in the country’s off-premise
  • SRP of GBP395 [US$490] per 70cl bottle. Available in limited – albeit unspecified – numbers
