Suntory Global Spirits has partnered with music-technology brand Technics to launch a series of events in the UK for the Toki Japanese whisky brand.

The series, Toki-O Nights, will debut in London’s Spiritland on 3 June and will run until December “across a curated selection of listening bars and music-led venues” in the capital, as well as in Edinburgh and Manchester. Organised by the group’s House of Suntory business unit, the events, which are free and will take place midweek, will serve Toki Japanese Highballs – a mix of whisky with soda – and include “vinyl-led” DJ sets.

Alongside the performances, Toki-O Nights will include ticketed events such as Q&As and “workshops exploring Japanese vinyl culture” – where twists on the Japanese Highball will be served. Details of the events can be found via a dedicated web page.

“Toki-O Nights will pair Japan’s iconic Whisky Highball with immersive, music-led experiences, giving guests the chance to discover the brand in a contemporary yet culturally driven setting,” the House of Suntory said.

If successful, Suntory will look to expand the events series overseas in 2027. Toki-O Nights follows the Japanese-inspired ‘Toki Listening Bar’ activation at London’s Seed Library for the brand in 2023.

The activity marks the second Japanese-whisky push from House of Suntory in as many weeks; last week the unit released details of the debut global marketing push – and brand ambassador – for the Hibiki mark.
