UK brand owner Sunrise Alliance Beverages has taken its portfolio to six with the acquisition of non-alcoholic beer brand Days.
Sunrise Beverages was formed in 2021 following its purchase of St Peter’s Brewery, two years before adding to its operations by buying English winemaker Chapel Down’s Curious Brewery. Financial details of the latest transaction, announced this week on LinkedIn, were not disclosed.
Co-founders Duncan Keith & Mike Gammell and “the entire Days team” will be joining Sunrise Beverages, Gammell confirmed to Global Drinks Intel.
“We always planned on finding a significant partner to help the business scale and we believe we’ve found the right home for the brand and team as we accelerate our next stage of growth,” Gammell said. “[CEO] Richard Mather and the Sunrise Beverages team are building a beer business the right way. Exciting brands, good people, capital discipline and serious operational capability.”
“The non-alcoholic beer category is one of the most important structural shifts in beer in a generation and we believe Days is the best independent brand to lead it,” added Sunrise’s Mather.
Sunrise Beverages also owns London-based Portobello Brewing Co and Gypsy Hill Brewery, and produces Japanese brand Orion and Turkish beer mark Efes under licence for the UK market.
In January, UK-based juice & CSD producer Cawston Press also ventured into the alcohol-free arena, buying Loah.
