Independent Irish whiskey brand Sláinte has expanded beyond its online debut in the US, readying roll-out to seven off-premise markets.
The whiskey, which was released on e-commerce platforms in the country last year, has signed sales and distribution agreements for California, Florida, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York and Texas. As well as its namesake Smooth Blend expression, which carries an SRP of US$37.99 per 75cl bottle, Sláinte’s 18-year-old limited edition single malt will also hit the seven states, retailing at $499.99.
The brand’s partners in the markets comprise:
- Park Street in California and New York
- Allied Beverage in New Jersey
- Sunshine Beverage in Florida
- Green Light Distribution in Texas
- TIAN Beverage Distributor in Nevada, and
- Martignetti Companies in Massachusetts and Rhode Island
Strongside Brands, meanwhile, will lead on the sales side in Florida and Texas.
Based in Dublin, Sláinte was founded by actor & director Liev Schreiber alongside “drinks industry expert” Richard Davies.
Last year, privately-owned US group Sazerac Co acquired the Lough Gill Distillery as well as the Athrú Irish whiskey. The transaction saw the brand join Paddy in Sazerac’s Irish whiskey portfolio.
