Skrewball Spirits has added a canned format to the packaging options for its namesake peanut butter-flavoured whiskey.
The California-based company highlighted the increased popularity of canned beverages among consumers as the driver behind the move to a 100ml can version of Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey. Each can will hold two servings of the 35% ABV whiskey, which debuted in San Diego four years ago.
As well as California, the cans will be available in Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Wisconsin and Tennessee. Further US markets will be added “throughout the coming summer months”.
Convenience has been one of the main reasons for the explosion in spirits-based RTDs in the US in recent months. Spurred by the cocktails-at-home trend, which was turbo-charged by the pandemic, spirits brand owners are racing to get their established brands into cans, albeit in premix format. Earlier this month, Brown-Forman confirmed a new partnership with The Coca-Cola Co for a branded Jack Daniel’s & Coke RTD.
