US-based Republic National Distributing Co (RNDC) has announced a “strategic reinvestment” in its Texas operations, creating around 100 jobs.

The privately-owned distribution major said the injection, financial details of which were not disclosed, will improve focused on-premise wine and spirits teams, expand regional account support and result in an “increase in new associates joining the RNDC Texas team”. The company said the changes will also allow for “faster decision-making” and “deeper collaboration”.

“We’ve taken a close look at where we are – and more importantly, where we need to be,” said RNDC chief sales & execution officer Taylor Sommer. “After listening to our associates, customers and supplier partners, one thing is clear: we need to strengthen our presence and performance in the market.

“Texas is a critical part of our foundation, and we’re proud to reinvest here.”

RNDC is currently on the hunt for a permanent CEO after Nick Mehall announced his departure in February. Bob Hendrickson, the company’s previous COO, stepped in as interim lead from 3 March.

Republic Beverage Co was created in 1997 through the merger of Julius Schepps and Tarrant Co, which combined with National Distributing Co to form RNDC in 2006.
