The organiser of the ProWein trade show in Germany has unveiled plans for next year’s event, which includes a reduction in the number of halls.

The main change to ProWein, announced today by Messe Düsseldorf, will be the removal of halls 13 and 14 from its footprint. Speaking to Global Drinks Intel, a spokesperson for Messe said the narrowing of aisles, which had been widened for the 2022, 2023 and 2024 iterations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, “means we need less space for all our exhibitors”.

The structure of the hall layout for next year’s exhibition will be:

  • Halls 1 and 4 – Germany
  • Hall 5 – ‘ProSpirits’
  • Hall 7.0 – “Same But Different” on-premise trends
  • Hall 9 – Portugal & other European countries
  • Hall 10 – France
  • Hall 11 – Spain
  • Hall 12 – New World
  • Halls 15 and 16 – Italy, and
  • Hall 17 – Greece & Austria

“The linchpin will be the condensed space allocation inside the 11 ProWein exhibition halls,” said event director Peter Schmitz. “Entirely in the interest of our exhibitors and visitors from throughout the world, we will arrange ProWein in a markedly more compact structure again like prior to the pandemic.

“For visitors this has the advantage of shorter distances between exhibitors.”

The deadline for exhibitor registrations for ProWein 2025, which runs from 16 to 18 March, is the end of June.

Last year’s show was hit by industrial action on local public transport in the city. Consequently, visitor numbers slipped by 4.1% on 2023, coming in at 47,000.
