A Pernod Ricard executive of 34 years has left the group to assume the leadership of spirits peer Angostura Holdings.
Laurent Schun started with the Trinidad & Tobago-based company as its CEO earlier this week. Chief operating officer Ian Forbes, who had held the role on an interim basis since September 2020, has “resumed his substantive position”, according to a recent filing.
Starting with Pernod Ricard in 1989, Schun rose through the ranks to become CEO of the company’s Caribbean & Central America operations in 2017. He vacated the role last year.
Forbes had assumed the seat when Peter Sandström stepped down from the group after eight months. Local reports at the time cited the company as saying his departure “was due to unforeseen family matters requiring his immediate and sustained presence in the UK”.
Late last year, Angostura extended the range of its Angostura Chill soft drinks brand, which uses the company’s namesake bitters. The group also owns the Angostura rum brand.
