Pernod Ricard has appointed Florence Tresarrieu as CEO of its Canadian affiliate, Corby Spirit & Wine.

Tresarrieu (below) will succeed Nicolas Krantz, who in turn will take on “new responsibilities” elsewhere in the group, at the start of next year. She will join the Corby business unit having worked as global senior VP for investor relations, treasury & cash performance at Pernod Ricard’s French headquarters since 2019.

A Belgian national, she joined Pernod Ricard six years ago following an 18-year career in investment banking with JP Morgan and Barclays, where she advised multinational corporations across Europe and Asia.

Krantz, who led Corby for five years, oversaw portfolio expansion, including a move into the country’s ready-to-drink segment last year through the deal to buy Nude, a five-strong line of spirits-based premixes, and guided the company through the pandemic. He will remain on Corby’s board as a non-executive director following his departure.

Corby, which is majority-owned by Pernod Ricard, has its own stable of brands in Canada, including JP Wiser’s, Polar Ice and Cottage Springs, but also distributes the group’s international portfolio domestically.

Earlier this month, Diageo reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Canada following Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s threat to pull Crown Royal and other of its brands from the shelves of the province’s alcohol retail monopoly.
