The owner of the Teremana brand has stated its “global” intentions for the Tequila, appointing former Campari Group executive Richard Black as its CEO.
Siete Bucks Spirits, which is co-owned and fronted by US actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, has confirmed this month the recruitment of Black to head up Teremana in the newly-created position. According to Black’s LinkedIn profile, however, he assumed the role in September, when he stepped down from the role of CMO at Oregon’s Westward Whiskey.
Between 2007 and 2018, Black worked for Campari in a number of positions, including global integration director for rum between early 2013 and mid-2015. He left the group four years ago before joining Westward in 2020.

“We are proud to add proven industry leader, Richard Black, to our Teremana team … ,” said founder Dwayne Johnson. “It’s with gratitude … that we take this exciting next leap forward with Richard as we expand Teremana into a global Tequila brand.”
The three-strong portfolio centres around the Blanco expression, which carries an SRP in the US of US$29.99 per 75cl bottle. The Reposado is priced at $32.99 with the Añejo costing $39.99.
Earlier this year, Germany’s Mast-Jägermeister built on its distribution tie-up with Teremana by acquiring a stake in Siete Bucks. The size of the holding as well as its price was not disclosed.
