Molson Coors Beverage Co has committed to a GBP10m (US$12.3m) spend on its Aspall cider brand in the UK.

The investment into the business will take place over the next five years as part of a wider GBP100m investment across the group’s entire UK brewery and beverage network. The funding will go towards increasing production by an undisclosed amount as well as “infrastructure upgrades”.

The planned investment follows on from a GBP13m investment in increasing capacity at the Aspall Cyder House in eastern England, which concluded in 2022.

“This plan is an important investment in the future of the Aspall Cyder House to help us meet demand for our ciders … while making strong progress against our sustainability targets,” said Aspall’s head of supply chain Damian Mills.

“Molson Coors’ latest investment will ensure we can continue to grow the brand while protecting the site’s heritage and continuing our commitment to the very highest quality.”

The Coors Light brewer acquired Aspall Cyder back in 2018, and the unit now employs around 130 people. Just last week, Molson Coors bought a stake in UK-based mixer business Fever-Tree.
