Kavalan Distillery is extending the European presence of its namesake Taiwanese whisky brand to Sweden.
The King Car Group-owned company has signed a distribution agreement with Symposion in the country. Subsequently, four Kavalan single malts will debut this month, including the “entry-level” Distillery Select No. 1 expression.
Joining the flagship iteration in Sweden will be Kavalan Triple Sherry Cask, Kavalan Podium and Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique Single Cask Strength. The brand is already available in France and the UK where according to CEO YT Lee, the distiller is “seeing strong demand”.
Sweden’s off-premise channel operates through state-owned operator Systembolaget for all alcohol above 3.5% ABV.
