Global Drinks Intel has appointed Jessica Broadbent as its deputy editor as the alcohol industry news platform prepares to bid farewell to senior reporter Henry Mathieu.
Broadbent (above) joins following a stint as a freelance journalist in Panama and was previously deputy editor at Just Drinks. Earlier in her career, she wrote for other B2B platforms, including The Buyer and Just Food, and has been a sub-editor at The Daily Mail.
She began her drinks career in a bar, throwing muddlers around in Be At One before working at UK importer Bibendum Wine.
Working alongside Global Drinks Intel editor Olly Wehring, Broadbent will contribute to the website’s daily news coverage, while also producing features for the platform’s magazine.
“After a very tropical 18 months freelancing in Panama, I am thrilled to join the editorial team at such a respected industry title,” she said. “I can’t wait to get stuck in at Global Drinks Intel.”
Mathieu, who joined Global Drinks Intel – also from Just Drinks – in January last year, is leaving the business this week, before starting with London-based PR firm Hudson Sandler early next month.
