Kirin has completed a packaging update across its Four Roses Kentucky Bourbon brand portfolio.
The Japan-headquartered group, which acquired Four Roses Distillery in 2002, is linking the refresh to the brand’s 135th anniversary. The move will apply across the full line of expressions and will be backed by a ten 5cl-bottle ‘Recipe Tasting Experience’ that will be available for US$129.99 in selected US states next month.
Among the features making up the new look are a brightening of the labels “to bring a more contemporary look to the design”. At the same time, Four Roses’ website will also benefit from the refresh.
The ten-pack comprises individual whiskies that are used in the brand. A QR code takes the purchased to a guided tasting recording by master distiller Brent Elliott.
Social media speculation six years ago linked Kirin to a divestment of the Four Roses business to Constellation Brands. The rumours, which have since proved to be unfounded, came around a year after Constellation bought into The Bardstown Bourbon Co, also in Kentucky, as well as Utah-based American whiskey producer High West Distillery.
