Tequila brand El Tequileño is poised to build on its US presence thanks to a strengthening of its arrangement with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.
Three years on from debuting in 22 states in the country, brand owner Jorge Salles Cuervo y Sucesores will see its portfolio roll out to all 44 markets covered by Southern Glazer’s in the coming weeks. The range features Blanco, Reposado, Platinum, Reposado Gran Reserva, Cristalino and Añejo Gran Reserva expressions, along with ‘The Sassenach Select’ and “the world’s first” Reposado Rare.
El Tequileño’s Blanco Tequila carries an SRP of around US$23 per 750ml bottle in the US, while the Reposado retails at just under $30.
The brand was founded in 1959 by Jorge Salles Cuervo and is now overseen by the third generation of the family at La Guarreña distillery in Jalisco.
