Carlsberg is on the lookout for a new lead of its Central & Eastern Europe and India region.

Lars Lehmann, who has been the executive VP overseeing operations in the reporting region since early 2021, has “decided to leave … to take up a position outside the company”, the group confirmed. A succession search has commenced, with Lehmann staying on until the end of this year.

Details about where he is moving to were not disclosed.

Lehmann joined Carlsberg in April 2003, moving through the ranks to head up the Carlsberg Malaysia business eight years ago. His promotion to executive VP for Eastern Europe and president of Baltika Breweries in Russia in mid-2019 saw him join the executive committee.

The departure has been announced two weeks before Lehmann’s peer for Western Europe, Graham Fewkes, retires. Fewkes’ role will be taken by group commercial & strategy executive VP Søren Brinck, whose position will be renamed chief strategy & commercial officer and assumed by Anders Røed, Carlsberg’s Kronenbourg MD.

In the latest results from the company, Lehmann’s region was its top performer, delivering a near-9% rise in half-year sales as Carlsberg’s top-line rose by just under 4% in the six months to the end of June.
