The recent retirement of a longstanding Brown-Forman executive has prompted the group to redraw the regions for its Global Travel Retail operations.
Montgomery Wilson has called time on his near-30-year tenure with the group, with whom he has spent the last two years as director of GTR for the Americas & Asia Pacific. Subsequently, a restructure has been announced this week, comprising three regions; the Americas, along with Europe, Middle East, Africa & India [EMEAI] and Asia, Australia, New Zealand & the Pacific Islands [APAC].
Europe GTR director Oscar Camargo has been promoted to director for the same sales channel in EMEAI. Camargo moved across from William Grant & Sons in early 2018 to join Brown-Forman, assuming his latest role at the end of 2020.

Over in APAC, Dreamy Zhou will head up the region’s GTR business. Zhou started as a brand ambassador for flagship American whiskey Jack Daniel’s in Hong Kong 12 years ago before becoming area manager for APAC GTR strategic accounts in 2019.

The Americas lead position has yet to be filled, with all three director roles reporting in to GTR MD David Rodiek.
In results for the six months to the end of October, reported two months ago, Brown-Forman posted a 17% increase in year-on-year sales as Jack Daniel’s delivered an 18% top-line jump.
