A new home-cocktail platform has been launched in the US with a price tag of around US$300.
Black & Decker’s Bev cocktail maker is available through Amazon in the country as well as in “select” retailers. The unit, which can house up to five 750ml bottles of spirits, allows consumers to set the strength of their cocktails, including alcohol-free serves.
As well as the five bottles, the machine also “works exclusively” with capsules produced by Bartesian, with whom Beam Suntory announced an investment in its own cocktail-making machine last year. Scanning the barcode on the capsule will allow the machine “to draw from the corresponding spirit.
Late last year, Anheuser-Busch InBev and Keurig Dr Pepper called time on their four-year-old home-cocktail business Drinkworks. The JV’s flagship was a pod-based platform that also cost $299.
