Beam Suntory has paired its Courvoisier Cognac brand with Chinese artist Jainnan Huang for a limited line of bottles in time for the start of the Lunar New Year.
‘The Dragon Collection’, which will apply to the cognac brand’s one-off Year of the Dragon Blend as well as the L’Essence and XO expressions, has started to roll out worldwide in recent days. All three leverage Huang’s expertise with enamel.
While the XO pack will be available in all of Courvoisier’s markets, L’Essence de Courvoisier is on sale now in Canada, China, the UK and the US as well as across South East Asia. The Year of the Dragon Blend, meanwhile, features a Baccarat decanter on an enamel base. When contacted by Global Drinks Intel, a brand spokesperson said that eight units of the iteration, featuring “eaux-de-vie from previous Dragon Years, the oldest of which dates back to the last century”, will be available exclusively in China.
The next Lunar Year commences on 10 February.
Beam Suntory has recently changed its CEO as chief growth & brands officer Greg Hughes took over from Albert Baladi in October.
