Molson Coors Beverage Co has made its bid to fill the coffee-flavoured Tequila gap created by Bacardi’s Patrón extension wind-down in the UK.
Almost exactly a year ago, Bacardi confirmed the retirement of Patrón XO Cafe in the market. Coinciding with the anniversary, Molson Coors’ UK division is partnering with Bandero Tequila owner Rokit Drinks to launch the Café expression from the brand’s portfolio, joining Bandero Blanco in the country.
The US-headquartered group shares the UK distribution rights for Bandero with Deckers Trading.
Bandero Café will be available to customers in both the on- and off-premise, with a 70cl bottle on sale online at GBP43 (US$49.70). Bandero Blanco, meanwhile, retails for GBP40.
Molson Coors, which has been actively looking to expand beyond its established beer operations for about three years, will report its third-quarter results on 1 November. Sales for the first six months of 2022 were up 8.2% on the same period last year.
