The pending retirement of one of its regional leads has prompted an internal recruitment and redraw at Bacardi.
The group has been informed by the regional president for Western Europe, Australia & New Zealand, Francis Debeuckelaere, that he intends to step away at the end of this month. Debeuckelaere, who joined Bacardi in 1994, will see his Western Europe responsibilities be assumed by Ignacio del Valle, the current regional president for Latin America & Caribbean.
Del Valle, who is a sixth-generation member of the Bacardi family, has headed up ‘LAC’ operations for the last six years.

The Australia & New Zealand businesses will transition to Vijay Subramaniam, who will absorb the regions into his current Asia, Middle East & Africa and Global Travel Retail presidency. Recently-announced global growth officer Pete Carr, meanwhile, will also take on LatAm & Caribbean.
Following his retirement, Debeuckelaere “will move to a consulting capacity to support the transition and provide expertise on company initiatives”, Bacardi said.
