Wine group Australian Vintage is moving out of its comfort zone with a line of spirits and RTDs in its domestic market.
The McGuigan brand owner has created four new brands, one of which includes a “world-first” Prosecco gin. The portfolio additions were released in Australia last month in the off-premise channel through alcohol multiple retailer First Choice Liquor Market.
The brands comprise:
- Gelato Drinks Co – Two flavoured cream liqueurs
- Mr Stubbs – Premix bottled cocktails “to be enjoyed at home”
- Rescued Spirit Co – A gin and a vodka, both produced using citrus fruit, and
- Tempus Two Gin – Three expressions – Botanical, Shiraz and Prosecco – described by the company as “premium”
SRPs were not immediately available.
In February, Australian Vintage reported a 7% year-on-year decline in sales from the six months to the end of December, coming in at AUD138m (US$95.6m).
