The head of Pernod Ricard’s ‘South Asia’ operations has had to step down on health grounds.
Thibault Cuny, who assumed the MD & CEO positions for Pernod Ricard South Asia & India in 2019, has been “dealing with health concerns over the past couple of years”, the group confirmed today. Replacing him on an interim basis is Asia CEO Philippe Guettat.
Joining Pernod in 2003, Cuny moved to Brazil three years later, becoming president & CEO of the market in 2012 for almost seven years. He moved to India in mid-2019 to assume his most recent position.
“We pray for Thibault’s speedy recovery and wish him strength as he continues his medical treatment,” said Guettat.
Also today, Pernod upped its holding in US-based Sovereign Brands just over a year after first connecting with the Luc Belaire sparkling wine and Bumbu rum owner.
