Anheuser-Busch InBev is set to appoint Jean Jereissati as the next lead for its largest reporting region.
Jereissati, who has been with the group through its various incarnations since 1998, will move up from Brazilian division Ambev, where he is the current CEO, to take the same position for ‘Middle Americas’. He will start in role on 1 January.
Heading in the other direction will be incumbent Carlos Lisboa. Boasting a similarly lengthy tenure as Jereissati – he started with Ambev in Brazil in 1993 – Lisboa’s career has taken in stints as the head of the Canadian business unit, marketing VP for global brands at AB InBev’s global headquarters in New York and zone president of Latin America South.
Lisboa will lead Ambev having spent six years as the Middle Americas zone president.
“During his tenure … , Lisboa led the company to become AB InBev’s largest region, along with a solid digital transformation,” said AB InBev. “During his five-year cycle at Ambev, Jean [Jereissati] became one of the most admired leaders in Brazil and has led the process of strengthening Ambev’s relationship with stakeholders throughout the ecosystem. Jean has also led the portfolio innovation and digital transformation in Brazil with BEES and Ze Delivery.
“Under his leadership, Ambev delivered all-time high volumes in Brazil and had a resilient cash flow generation.”
In results from the first six months of 2024, announced by AB InBev earlier this month, Middle Americas was up in sales terms by almost 7% on the corresponding period last year. With a half-year top-line of US$8.57bn, the reporting region was over double the size of ‘Europe, Middle East & Africa’ – the fourth largest of the company’s five regions.
