UK-based Keystone Brewing Group has named Steve Cox as its next CEO, following a spending spree in recent months.

Cox (below) was most recently head of In Good Company, the drinks business from which Keystone acquired the Magic Rock and Fourpure beer brands earlier this year. He replaces current CEO Mark Williams who will return to his role as shareholder and board member of parent company Breal Group.

Private-equity-backed Keystone said the appointment will help towards reaching its target of GBP100m (US$126.7m) in sales by 2028.

“I want to thank Mark for his contribution to Keystone,” said Cox. “Despite being less than two years old, the group has already made its mark on the industry with its commitment to excellence, creativity and rapid national growth. It has some fantastic brands in its portfolio and I’m looking forward to this new chapter in the group’s expansion and innovation”.

Keystone, which has purchased four brewers, including Black Sheep Brewery, over the past couple of years, added another UK craft brewer to its roster last month as North Brewing Co moved across for an undisclosed fee.
