Carlsberg has resurrected a longstanding marketing tagline for its namesake brand in a UK-centred campaign that runs to the end of August.
Claiming that ‘If Carlsberg Did…’ has not been used since 2016, the group’s UK division, Carlsberg Britvic, said it is rolling out three variations featuring the line from this week. Running until 31 August, the creatives will appear on video-on-demand and “high-impact” online video platforms, backed by paid social, experiential, creator partnerships and an “in-store toolkit”.
Financial details about the campaign were not disclosed.
“[‘If Carlsberg Did…’] is one of the most iconic, recognisable and beloved advertising taglines in British history,” said Carlsberg Britvic CMO Munnawar Chishty. “In 2026, we’re giving this … platform a modern glow-up to solve some of the UK’s most common summer pain points. Whether it’s reclaiming the peace of a seaside beer garden from seagulls or finding a perfectly chilled pint in the middle of a heatwave, we are stepping in to help Brits make the absolute most of their summer.”
In results from the first three months of 2026, announced by the group in late April, total sales increased by 3.6% on the corresponding quarter a year earlier, led by the ‘Central & Eastern Europe and India’ reporting region, which was up by just over 8%. Carlsberg is scheduled to report its H1 2026 figures on Wednesday 19 August.
