US-based Athletic Brewing Co has signed “multi-year” partnerships with two National Football League (NFL) players.
Quarterbacks Drake Maye and Dak Prescott will appear in marketing content for the company’s namesake brand and have each become an “athlete-owner” (equity holder). The pair’s debut campaign, ‘Athletic Fits’, will run across the brand’s social-media channels from next week.
Financial details of their investment were not disclosed.
Athletic also includes athletes JJ Watt, Justin Tuck, Lance Armstrong, and Naomi Osaka among its investors.
The Connecticut & California dual-headquartered company said Maye and Prescott “each bring a distinct perspective to Athletic while reflecting shared values around leadership, teamwork and the pursuit of progress”.
“Athletic’s growth story and challenger mindset immediately stood out to me,” said Maye. “The company started with an idea that many people doubted, stayed committed to its vision, and built a nationally recognised brand through hard work and determination. Becoming an athlete-owner gives me an opportunity to learn from that journey and begin building my own understanding of business and entrepreneurship.”
Last month, Athletic penned a “multi-year” sponsorship agreement with MetLife Stadium and NFL teams New York Giants and New York Jets.
