Molson Coors Beverage Co has announced a limited run of celebratory Miller Lite cans following the baseball world championship win yesterday (28 October) of the Milwaukee Brewers, of which Molson Coors is a sponsor.
A 4,400-pack run of the ‘Clinch Cans’ will be available to purchase from a dedicated page on the group’s website from 2 November. The cans contain beer that the company claims was on the manufacturing line at the “exact” time the game was won: 10:13pm.
The size of the run is a nod to the last time the Brewers appeared in the World Series, 44 years ago in 1982.
Miller Lite is the ‘official beer partner’ of the baseball team, whose stadium is located around two miles from Molson Coors’ brewery in the city.
“This is the biggest win in Brewers history,” said the Miller Lite Family of Brands’ VP of marketing, Courtney Benedict. “As the official beer of our hometown team – one named after beer, no less – we knew we couldn’t just sit back and say ‘congrats’.”
This year, Molson Coors has hired influencer Livvy Dunne and actor Christopher Walken to appear in separate campaigns for Miller Lite.
