Angostura Holdings has expanded the portfolio of its namesake bitters brand to include two cocktail syrups.
Framed by the Trinidad-based company as a “significant milestone”, the move marks brand Angostura’s debut in syrups. The pair consist of Angostura Demerera Sugar Syrup and Angostura Spicy Honey Syrup, with both on sale in the US from this week through selected off-premise operators.
Mizkan Group’s ‘America’ unit will add the SKUs, which are available in 37.5cl bottles, to its existing distribution and sales arrangement for the bitters stable across North America. The SRPs were not immediately available.
“For more than 200 years, Angostura has helped shape cocktail culture around the world,” said Angostura CEO Ian Forbes. “These syrups extend that legacy by bringing the brand’s flavour expertise and commitment to quality into a new cocktail ingredient category.”
Late last year, Forbes stepped in to assume the CEO role – alongside his existing responsibilities as group COO – on an interim basis for a third time. Forbes took over at the helm after former Pernod Ricard executive Laurent Schun vacated the position in January 2025.
