Tequila and mezcal producer Clase Azul México is opening a 50-acre tourist centre in Los Altos de Jalisco, Mexico.

The site, La Hacienda, will open on 20 May and features a distillery and visitor centre, a restaurant, a replica of a traditional hacienda, interactive installations and a shop. Visitors can buy a half- or full-day experience for US$280 and $600 respectively.

Clase Azul México released a teaser video (below) ahead of the opening, which it shared on social media.

The tours form an “initial stage” of offerings, the company said, and will accommodate up to ten people per group. Global Drinks Intel has contacted Clase Azul México about its future plans for the site.

The unveiling of La Hacienda follows the opening of a “brand home” for Clase Azul México in Mexico City, called Casa de los Leones, earlier this year. The brand was founded by Arturo Lomelí in 1997 and its tequilas range in price from around US$140 to $2,000.

Last month, Sazerac Co bolstered its tequila footprint via a “strategic partnership and financial investment” in the 818 brand.
