Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits has released details of a packaging update for its Gautier cognac mark.
The refresh, announced earlier this month by the French brand owner, will apply across Gautier’s VS and VSOP iterations. The move coincides with the cognac’s 270th anniversary and will roll out across all of the brand’s markets in the coming weeks.
“This more premium evolution is part of a broader brand-enhancement strategy, featuring cleaner, more contemporary lines that express the elegance, tradition and singularity of Maison Gautier,” the company said.
In their home market, the VS carries an SRP of EUR31 (US$36) per bottle, with the VSOP priced at EUR42.
Also to mark the anniversary, Marie Brizard, which also owns the William Peel blended scotch and Sobieski vodka brands, is readying the release of a 30-year-plus iteration. Gautier Brut de Fut 270 Ans (above) is a cask-strength cognac sourced from “a rare eau-de-vie from the Petite Champagne cru”. At a price point of EUR190 per unit, the limited-edition extension will be available from the brand’s website early next month.
In its results for the 12 months of last year, announced in February, Marie Brizard booked a year-on-year sales decline of 8.6% due in part to what it called at the time “complicated annual trade negotiations with off-trade customers” in France throughout much of 2025.
