The National Alcohol Beverage Control Association (NABCA) has elected an official from Michigan as its next chair-elect.
Kristin Beltzer (below) is the administrative commissioner & chair of NABCA member Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) and will take up her additional post in May. NABCA, which supports the US’s control states, recruits a new chair-elect every year, who then assumes the role of chair for a further year – Beltzer takes the position vacated by Chris Graham on his move to the chair.
Beltzer joined MLCC in 2022 as an administrative commissioner and was elected to become its chair in 2023 – a position she will hold until at least 2030. She is the founder of public-affairs consultancy KB Collaborative and spent 11 years at Michigan-based Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“It is a privilege to work with individuals who are so committed to our mission and to the control states we serve,” she said. “I look forward to building on the strong foundation already in place, strengthening our impact, and continuing the important work that defines this organisation.”
In other US news, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has acquired “substantially all” of the assets of two domestic distributors this month: Colorado’s Eagle Rock Distributing Co and New York-based Clare Rose.
