India-headquartered Reliance Consumer Products (RCPL) has acquired a majority stake in Australian soft drinks company Goodness Group Global.

The transaction, announced towards the end of last week, will see RCPL distribute Goodness Group’s brands in “newer” markets, including India. The move marks RCPL’s entry into Australia’s FMCG market.

Financial and stake size details were not disclosed, while Global Drinks Intel has contacted the two companies for more details on the deal.

RCPL is the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, and was separated from the group’s retail division during a restructuring in December last year. The Mumbai-headquartered group also owns shares in Indian beverage brands Sosyo Hajoori, Campa Cola and Sosyo Hajoori.

Goodness Group was formed in 2023 by the founders of kombucha brand Nexba. Its portfolio also includes Bison protein drinks and Pace, a hydration brand co-created with Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins.

RCPL director T. Krishnakumar, said: “This strategic partnership is a bold step towards establishing RCPL as a global FMCG company from India. The addition of Goodness Group’s health-focused consumer brands like Nexba and Pace will add strength to RCPL’s healthy-beverages portfolio.

“With our strong supply chain and distribution capabilities, RCPL will ensure expansion of Goodness Group’s brands across newer markets and wide availability in India.”

In the third quarter (to the end of December) of its fiscal 2026, Reliance Industries reported a 10% year-on-year increase in sales to INR2,940bn (US$32.3bn). For the first nine months of the current financial year, group sales rose to INR8,506bn, from INR7,830bn during the same period in 2025.

In other soft drinks M&A activity this month, AG Barr bought two UK soft drinks brands – Fentimans and Frobishers Juices – last week.
