US-based WhistlePig Whiskey has officially opened a “brand home” in Louisville, Kentucky.
The venue, called The WhistlePig Vault, is housed in a restored 1911 bank building in the city’s Bourbon District. It represents the Vermont-based rye whiskey specialist’s first permanent visitors site in Kentucky.
The space includes a cocktail bar, retail area and blending room, alongside a vault showcasing WhistlePig’s oldest ryes, bourbons and reserve whiskeys. The company said the opening also nods to its late founding distiller, Dave Pickerell, who began his career in Kentucky before helping establish WhistlePig as a modern rye producer.
In October, WhistlePig, which was founded by entrepreneur Raj Bhakta in 2007, hired Stephen Carberry as its CMO four months after welcoming a new CEO, as Charles Gibb assumed the position from mixer business Fever-Tree.
Bhakta exited the privately-owned business in 2019.
