Molson Coors Beverage Co’s CCO, Michelle St Jacques, is set to depart the multi-category group on 14 November.
The Miller Lite brand owner revealed today (6 October) that it “expects it will enter into a severance agreement” with the incumbent CCO. Information on plans to replace St Jacques (below) was not immediately available, although a social media post by Molson Coors’ new CEO suggested her position is being phased out.
St. Jacques has worked at Molson Coors for six years, spending the last 18 months as the company’s commercial lead. Prior to that, she worked at Kraft Heinz for four years and Unilever for seven. Global Drinks Intel has enquired about what her future plans are.
The news comes two weeks after Molson Coors brought the five-month search for its next CEO to a conclusion, with chief strategy officer Rahul Goyal lined up to take the reins from Gavin Hattersley from the start of this month. In a LinkedIn post, also today, Goyal “committed to being transparent as we build the path forward for Molson Coors”.
“I believe we have the right priorities – growing our iconic core brands, premiumising our portfolio and scaling our beyond beer business,” Goyal wrote. “The reality is, our progress against those priorities, though meaningful, is not enough.
“We must transform faster and make changes that acknowledge the real challenges facing our business and the beer industry, and we must move with urgency.”
For the first half of 2025, Molson Coors sat at -6.1% for year-on-year sales, thanks predominantly to a 10.4% top-line tumble in the three months to the end of March. The group will report its Q3 figures at the start of next month.
