Stauning Whisky has updated the packaging of its namesake brand as part of what the Danish company has called a “wider brand evolution”.
The revised design, announced this week, will debut globally this summer, beginning with the company’s two core expressions: Stauning Danish RYE and Stauning HØST. The updated visual identity features nine lines converging on a central grain motif, referencing the distillery’s nine founding members and its “grain-to-glass” production model.
The rest of the Stauning portfolio will transition to the redesigned bottles by the end of next year.
“This is a significant moment for Stauning – a distillery that began 20 years ago as a wild idea among friends and has grown into one of the world’s most acclaimed New World whisky producers,” said co-founder Alex Munch. “Our new look honours classical whisky cues while reflecting our future – thoughtful, design-led and defiantly Danish.”
Founded in 2005 by nine friends, Stauning has grown to become the largest distiller in Denmark, currently distributed in around 20 markets including the UK, US, Germany and the Nordics. The business was previously part of Diageo-backed Distill Ventures’ portfolio, with the company regaining independence following the completion in March of Diageo’s “strategic review of our approach to early-stage, venture investments”.
