Asahi has rolled out a UK marketing push following its recently-announced tie-up with the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.

With Asahi Super Dry as the ‘official beer’ of the upcoming tournament, the Japanese group has released an advert (below) fronted by rugby player Ellie Kildunne. The company has spent GBP2m (US$2.7m) on its ‘Rugby Like Never Before’ initiative, which will run across broadcast video platforms in the country, including ITVx and Sky.

Shorter edits of the advert will air on paid social media channels, backed by digital out-of-home presence in “major UK cities”. The tournament will start on 22 August with the final taking place in London on 27 September.

Earlier this week, Asahi’s namesake beer brand secured ‘official beer sponsor’ status for English Premier League team Arsenal FC.
